Result: WON 4 1/2 to 1 1/2
Our first home match of the year saw us given leave to tee off a little earlier than usual,as when the fixture was made nobody realised that the clocks had yet to go forward. Consequently our penultimate pairing of Danny Prince and Jeff Budd used the excuse for their halved match that it was 'too dark'. Their opponents,Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles,had no such complaints!
But seriously,the whole team can be proud of their performances. Dan warner/Alan Wright, Ben Clark/Mark Penfold and the afforementioned all halving their games,whilst your Captain/Maurice Vinson, Bob Curd/Garry Tuppen, Nick Crombie/Steve Smith all found themselves in the winners enclosure.
Nick and Steve took the sweep money with a magnificent 5&4 victory.
MATCH RESULT WHAGC 4 1/2 GRESHAM 1 1/2.
Well done boys,a fine win and not a loss between us.The Gresham boys were very gracious in defeat but were last seen heading down the A217 with their tails firmly between their legs!
