Match: HOME v Gresham
Date: Saturday 26th March
Result: WON 5 - 1
Our first home match of the year saw us tee off a little earlier at 2pm thanks to the kindness of the parent club as the clocks had yet to go forward (not that Garry Tuppen was paying much attention the next day either). Due to severe gails and a generally dreary day, it was agreed that the match would take place over 14 holes instead.
Apart from Jason Woodger and Keith Cotton, the whole team can be proud of their performances! With several matches finishing well before the 14th (two matches finished on the 9th!). It was a fine win and Gresham Artisans took defeat very graciously!
Afterwards in the clubhouse both teams enjoyed a delicious lunch of Chicken & Ham pie provided by the lovely Maria Couchman. The lunch was subsequently officially awarded 10/10 on the Smiffy rating. Neil Armstrong & Glen Deacon made the fatal mistake of leaving their pie in the kitchen, to enjoy the next day. Needless to say, their plan ended in tears. The police are investigating!
